Moorbrook School is a smaller than the average-sized secondary school for pupils with semh needs.
All pupils prior to admission have been assessed and have an Education, Health & Care plan. We specialise in pupils with Autistic spectrum conditions, ADHD, specific learning difficulties, anxiety and other associated special educational needs. Many of our pupils have had negative experiences of education and are unable to progress within a mainstream setting. Academic attainment varies greatly on admission.
Most ks4 pupils attend alternative provision on a part-time basis, a small number attend full time. These include motor mechanics, construction, and farming and fishery management at present.
We pride ourselves on ensuring pupils are equipped with the qualifications and skills for moving on to education, training or employment when they leave Moorbrook at 16.
Our curriculum is designed to develop the whole child and to be individualised as far as possible to meet the needs, interests and abilities of our pupils as individuals.
