"The song was chosen by the student and we practised it first, working out the arrangement and parts. He chose to play the bass guitar and sing.
We then used a portable Tascam 8 track recorder to layer all the parts separately. During the process the student has learnt about microphone techniques and getting the right sound for each instrument.
The song was then mixed by the teacher using a digital audio workstation (DAW). This is a great way for the students to learn and understand the modern recording process in a simple way."
