Moorbrook Individualised Provision (MIP)
Moorbrook Individualised Provision (MIP)
Intent
At Moorbrook, our approach to Alternative Provision and Outreach
is designed to cater to the unique needs of our students who are unable to attend the traditional school environment. Our aim is to provide a bespoke and flexible learning experience that aligns with the National Curriculum in England while also addressing the individual educational, social, and emotional needs of each pupil.
By developing a personalised timetable for each student, we ensure that all pupils have access to quality education in a manner that suits their specific circumstances. We are committed to nurturing each child's potential and preparing them for a successful transition to post-16 education and adulthood.
Implementation
We have implemented a range of tailored strategies:
1. 1:1 Tutoring: Each student receives personalised tutoring sessions designed to address their unique learning goals and challenges. These sessions allow for focused teaching and provide pupils with the attention they need to succeed.
2. Moorbrook Staff Visits: Our MIP staff conduct regular visits to provide continued educational support, guidance, and mentorship. This helps to foster a strong connection between the school and the students, enhancing their learning journey.
3. Home Visits: Recognising the importance of a supportive home environment, our team conducts visits to understand and assist with any barriers to learning. This holistic approach ensures that students receive the necessary resources and encouragement at home as well as from school.
4. Social Skills Development: We focus on improving pupils' social skills through structured activities and interactions. This aims to enhance their confidence and ability to engage positively with their peers and community.
Impact
The success of our MIP programme at Moorbrook is measured by the following outcomes:
Preparation for Post-16 Education: Our pupils are well-prepared for further education opportunities. We aim to guide them in making informed decisions about their educational futures and provide the skills needed to thrive in new academic settings.
Preparation for Adulthood: We equip our students with essential life skills and resilience, enabling them to transition smoothly into adulthood. Our focus is on fostering independence and confidence, preparing them for future challenges and opportunities.
Exam Results: We track each pupil's academic performance, ensuring that they achieve the best possible results in their exams, reflecting their potential and hard work.
This comprehensive approach ensures that each student at Moorbrook is supported in their personal, academic, and social development, laying a strong foundation for their future success.
